little background: I studied basic HTML and CSS back in college (can't believe that was almost four years ago now), but I fell out of practice with it. Now I'm trying to get back into so I can better polish websites for clients in my normal graphic design work and (hopefully) get off website builder tools eventually as I am on a quest to eventually cut the cord (at least on some stuff but maybe not everything) and save money. In the meantime while I re-download the art of HTML and CSS and newly aquire JavaScript and other web langauges to my brain, I wanted to work on a indie site that has a little bit of everything I love and do as I don't use typical social media (at least not personally) all that much anymore. (I'm so sick and tired of the algorithms!)
I have big plans already drawn for my landing page, so I don't have any motivation to make a aesthetic landing page for now and I will begin updating my landing page once I can get my dusty, crusty, musty skills broken in and brushed off. While that is simmering on the back burner, feel free to look through any links I'll have listed below. All the links under here will be little practice project pages I'll do from time to time to help my skills clean up and so I don't get stuck in the YouTube tutorial sinkhole. However be mindful that WIPs are clearly not finished and I'm working on these a little at a time so stuff may look weird or broken especially in the early stages.
Until the next time our paths cross (or I actually have an updated landing page): さようなら. I hope fate brings you back here one day (and with a little bit of faith, luck and pixie dust it'll be when I actually have a good website for you to see).
I've been trying to get a blog up on my site even if its not pretty but I am being picky about the framework. So while I had spent several weeks studying and learning how to do it the way I want, I eventually needed to take a short break. On March 17th, 2026, we lost my soul dog Beastie Ella to heart failure. When I can get this website functional, she's going to have dedicated memorial page and she will likely end up being a angel mascot thoughout this site as it develops. For years, Beastie has been my little shadow and my 'co-designer'. She'd sit in my lap whenever I took on a new digital venture. Whether learning code, taking on a new video game, studying new digital art mediums, she was in my lap for every step of my journey to become a graphic designer. I'm utterly wrecked and lost without her. I'm going to come back to this hobby space slowly as I am able to tackle it in the coming weeks. I know Beastie wouldn't want me to abandon it, but its been hard to work creatively on the computer without her.
I miss you my baby girl. The world doesn't feel the same without you.
